Kandy Cultural Escape
A quick, culture-rich weekend built around Kandy's temples and gardens.
View TourThere's no direct flight from Australia, so most travellers connect via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Colombo's regional partners — total travel time is typically in the 13–17 hour range depending on the stopover. Australian winter (June–August) is a popular window to travel, and a good number of our Australian guests build in a night or two at the stopover city on the way through.
Australian passport holders need an ETA before arrival, applied for online.
Because of the stopover anyway, we often plan longer Sri Lanka itineraries for Australian travellers — island-length trips covering the Cultural Triangle, hill country, safari and the coast — rather than a quick week.
A starting selection — every tour is private and can be adjusted to your dates and pace.

Total journey13 to 17 hours
There is no direct flight, so Sri Lanka tours from Australia start with a connection, usually through Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Count on 13 to 17 hours in total. Many guests turn the stopover into a bonus night in the connecting city, and we can help you time the Sri Lanka flights around that.
Because the journey is long anyway, Australian travellers often choose a longer Sri Lanka holiday from Australia, such as a 2 week Sri Lanka itinerary with the Cultural Triangle, hill country, a safari and the coast. June to August is a popular time to travel. The Sri Lanka ETA for Australian passport holders is applied for online before you leave. Tell us your dates and we will build a route that does not feel rushed. All our Sri Lanka tour packages from Australia are private and priced per person for two sharing. If you would like a night in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur on the way, say so when you write and we will plan the Sri Lanka days around it.
Usually through Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. A bonus night on the way is easy to add.

Good first stops
What most travellers ask us before booking a Sri Lanka trip.
Most visitors need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before they arrive. You apply for it online, and it is usually approved within a day. Apply only on the official gov.lk site, because look-alike sites charge extra fees.
Send us your dates and interests and we'll put together a private itinerary and a quote.
